I need links to transphobic blogs / blog posts / whatever you can get your hands on as long as it sounds remotely intelligent (i.e. well-written). Links to comments made by well-respected authorities in psychology would be especially helpful (okay, so cross out the "well-respected" bit -- I'm pretty sure there aren't many people who regard Kenneth Zucker as an upright, level-headed authority on anything, or at least I sincerely hope not). Help? This essay is due tomorrow. :/

Alternately, if you'd just like to get online and argue with me about why transgenderism is wrong/unnatural/whatever, that would also be amazingly useful. (Contact info is on my profile.)

aigoo, if I'd seen this earlier, I could have linked you to a (circus? trainwreck?!) post that was about the evils of transphobia and how we should all be FIGHTING FOR THE CAUSE!!--And don't get me wrong, I have no problems with transmen & women, but the way that this post was set up was just...ugh. ]: And it was in some DW comm about comic books, and the mods were like 'WE ARE TRYING TO FOSTER A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL PEOPLES!!!' and if anyone said anything like 'um, is this relevant?' they were suddenly acting too privileged and were given links about how to avoid the tone argument fallacy and how to gauge their "privilege" and other wack shiznay. o_O;

Frankly, if I were some ~privileged~ straight white protestant guy, I would be scared as shit of people working toward equal rights for the LGBT community. >__>; and it would make me stay faaaar away.

...but my point is that, amidst the garbage, there may have been something of use to you. ;; fail.

Ah, that's okay, I just started quoting Zucker everywhere.

Lmao, that sounds ... like typical liberal intolerance. The kind of bullshit my congregation (church? Idek what we call ourselves anymore, a couple of years ago we switched from "church" to "congregation" in order to lose the Christian affiliation, which ... idk about everyone else, but "congregation" still sounds predominantly Christian to me? Anyway, then we got a Christian minister who made us change it back, and then an atheist minister who ... idk if she thought it was worth fiddling with or not) pulls on a daily basis. "We accept all beliefs and creeds OMG YOU EXPRESSED DISSATISFACTION WITH THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY YOU MUST BE A FASCIST." <-- it's not quite that bad, but sometimes it feels that way? Idk. My father is the most intolerant liberal-identifying man I know, so I probably get a lot more exposure to liberal bullshit than most people.

I would too! It doesn't matter whether I thought it was immoral/unnatural or not, the LGBT community can be really fucking creepy. Just like fandom, actually.

...yeahhh I've heard "congregation" used as a substitute for "parish," and meaning like...the people who attend a particular church. >>;

Most of my liberal friends are pretty straight, but me conservative friends are short-sighted. D: (Of course, most of my friends are too lackadaisical about politics in the first place, ahaha.) Sometimes my mother (who identifies as liberal) and her sisters say really stupid things that me me cringe on the inside, but it's really not that bad so I still get a little O_O;; or ...D: at crap like that whole...post saga thing, ahaha.

lol but the fascist comment--I have a friend who calls anyone who supports any sort of popularly Democratic movement (even if they're Republican or something) a communist. Immediately. I know it's mostly his father's garbage that he spews, but still. >>; I worry about him.

Sometimes fandom reminds me strongly of a cult movement. o_o I mean, Cassiopeia? They're like a viable small nation.
