It's been a while since I watched Kiva so I'm a bit rusty but from what I remember (various spoilers for Kiva) Taiga's (for most of the series anyway) pretty much a Fangire separatist: doesn't think humans and Fangire should mix and doesn't especially like humans at all (but even worse than a human is a Fangire who sympathises with humans). He kind of looks down on them. He's kind of possessive, about Mio, about Wataru and about Maya, but it's ~*~only because he loves them so much~*~.
